The Reason for

As a mother of a child with learning disabilities and ADHD, I felt isolated during the journey of discovery about our son's learning challenges. Ultimately, I gained insight about the technical aspects of his challenges from reading books and articles. What I did not find was a website or resource that focused on the social or emotional aspects of advocating for a child with exceptional needs, or in living that life. So, in October 2009, I launched LDExperience.

LDExperience Today

Over time, the site has grown and now attracts visitors from all over the world. The original intent was to focus on the issue of learning disabilities, but that too has changed. The site is appropriately defined as an aggregate blog. It contains over 100 articles. Many of the articles are written by people living with learning disabilities or ADHD. Others are penned by parents. I wrote about  half of the material on the site.
